Is Niagara Falls worth visiting?
Yes, absolutely worth visiting, but only if you do it right. The falls themselves are genuinely jaw-dropping—no photo or video does them justice. The sheer power and mist are something you have to feel. Don't just look from the sidewalk; do the Maid of the Mist boat tour (about $25-30 CAD per adult, runs April to November). You'll get soaked and it's the best 20 minutes of the trip. Also hit the Cave of the Winds (US side) or Journey Behind the Falls (Canadian side) to get right next to the water.
Skip the rest of the Clifton Hill tourist strip unless you want overpriced fudge, wax museums, and a haunted house that's not scary. The casinos are fine if you gamble, but otherwise meh. Go for one full day—arrive early, do the boat ride, walk the Niagara Parkway trail, and grab lunch away from the main drag. If you're expecting a nature-only experience, you'll be annoyed by the crowds and neon signs. But if you embrace the spectacle for what it is, it's a solid bucket-list check.
