Q&A

Can I bike around Niagara Falls?

Yes, you can bike around Niagara Falls, but it's not for the main tourist strip. The best spot is the Niagara River Recreation Trail, a paved 35-mile path that runs from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Fort Erie, passing right by the falls. You can rent bikes from places like Niagara Falls Adventure Rentals (about $30 for a half-day) or bring your own. The trail is flat, easy, and gives you killer views of the gorge and river without the crowds.

But here's the no-BS: don't bike on Clifton Hill or near the actual Horseshoe Falls viewpoint. That's a pedestrian zoo with no bike lanes, and you'll just get stuck dodging selfie sticks and strollers. Instead, park your bike at the Table Rock Welcome Centre (free bike racks), walk the falls, then ride south along the trail to the Whirlpool Rapids or north to the floral clock. If you're fit, the whole trail loop is about 3-4 hours, but most people just do the 6-mile stretch from the falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake for a chill ride with wineries along the way.
