Are dogs allowed at Niagara Falls?
Short answer: Not really, unless it's a service dog. The main tourist areas like the Niagara Falls State Park (US side) and the pathways right at the Horseshoe Falls (Canadian side) do not allow pets, period. Park police will tell you to leave, and you can't take them on the Maid of the Mist boat or behind the falls at Journey Behind the Falls. It's a hard no for the actual falls experience.
If you're driving in and need to walk your dog, there are some grassy spots along the Niagara River Gorge on the US side (like Whirlpool State Park), but you can't get close to the main falls. On the Canadian side, you're better off sticking to the trails in Niagara Glen or Queenston Heights, but that's a 10-minute drive from the tourist zone. Boarding options exist nearby, but expect to pay $30-50 per day. Honestly, unless you're just passing through for a quick pee break, leave the pup at home or with a sitter. It's not worth the hassle.
